Survivor’s of Suicide Loss Day

Please join us on November 23, 2019 as we observe International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. Our two events are specifically planned for those who have lost someone to suicide. Both events are free of charge, but registration is required.

The first gathering will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at the Sertoma Butterfly House, located at 4320 South Oxbow Avenue in Sioux Falls. To gain free entrance to the Sertoma Butterfly House, you will need to present the ticket from your Eventbrite registration.
We will spend time in the peace and serenity of the butterfly garden and our time there will culminate with the release of a butterfly to honor our loved ones lost to suicide. One butterfly will be released for each person to be remembered, therefore families and friends must designate someone from their group to perform the actual release. To register for this event and specify your designated butterfly release person, please go to:

The second event of the day begins nearby at Active Generations, located at 2300 West 46th Street in Sioux Falls. We will spend time in the company of other survivors and enjoy snacks and beverages. Supplies will be provided to make a memory box in remembrance of your loved one. If you have small objects or photos that you would like to personalize your box with, please bring them. The event will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Again, there is no charge to participate but the supplies will be limited to one project per attendee and those who wish to participate must register at:
